Redskins left tackle Trent Williams left Sunday’s game midway through the first quarter with right ankle and knee injuries. He was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Williams, who dislocated his right knee cap in Week 4, clutched his knee while falling to the ground and stayed down for several minutes. He was helped off the field by two trainers and later limped to the locker room, barely putting pressure on his right leg.

Williams sustained the injury on a third-down play with a little more than 9 minutes left in the first quarter. The Pro Bowl tackle was engaged in pass protection with Buccaneers defensive lineman Michael Johnson when another lineman, Gerald McCoy, appeared to roll onto the back of his leg. Williams’ ankle appeared to bend awkwardly in the process.

Williams also suffered a sprained right knee late last season.

Rookie Morgan Moses entered the game in Williams’ place on the ensuing drive.
