Wide receiver Leonard Hankerson and nose tackle Barry Cofield are active, allowing them to make their returns for the Washington Redskins on Sunday when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hankerson missed the first nine games of the season as he continued to recover from surgery following a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. He began training camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list and was able to practice for the first time on Oct. 15.
Cofield sustained a high right ankle sprain in the Redskins’ season-opening loss at Houston on Sept. 7 and missed the last eight games. He also underwent groin surgery in September, though he said Wednesday he believes he has fully recovered from both ailments.
Tight end Logan Paulsen, who was able to return to a full practice Friday as he battles plantar fasciitis in his right foot, is active and will play.
Inactive for the Redskins on Sunday will be quarterback Kirk Cousins, defensive end Stephen Bowen, wide receivers Santana Moss and Aldrick Robinson, right tackle Tyler Polumbus, right guard Spencer Long, cornerback Greg Ducre.
Bowen, who was reinstated from the PUP list for the Redskins’ game against Tennessee on Oct. 19, had not been a healthy scratch for a game since Week 2 of the 2008 season.
The Buccaneers will be without running back Doug Martin, who will miss his third consecutive game with a sprained right ankle, and cornerback Alterraun Verner, who was limited in practice all week with a strained hamstring.
Also inactive for Tampa Bay will be wide receiver Robert Herron, left tackle Kevin Pamphile, tight end Luke Stocker, defensive tackle Da’Quan Bowers and cornerback C.J. Wilson. Stocker was listed as questionable on the injury report because of an unspecified hip injury.
