“Duck Dynasty” TV show, “Duck Dynasty” coffee cups and posters, one of the “Duck Dynasty” castmates on “Dancing With the Stars” — and now, soon to come: “The Duck Commander Family Musical,” starring none other than the cast of the A&E hit reality, the Robertson family.

The famous entrepreneurial Christian family is now working on the musical production, aiming to open it in Las Vegas sometime soon, Mediaite reported.

“We’ve enjoyed the process of making a musical alongside the team who is interested in telling the Robertson family story from an outside perspective,” said Willie Robertson, adding that the production is action based on his book, “The Duck Commander Family,” which he co-authored with his wife, Korie.

A Broadway producer has joined the family, along with a composer — who said the music is not going to be all “chicken-picking stuff and banjos,” Mediaite reported.

Still, controversy has already swirled.

“The family has become symbolic of a much larger and somewhat dangerous problem of what we’re seeing in America — this issue of homophobia being masked as a religious value,” Sarah Kate Ellis, president of GLAAD, a gay rights group, said in The New York Times.

The criticisms apparently stem from the Robertson family’s biblical view of homosexuality — that it’s a sin — as espoused in Phil Robertson’s typical direct fashion in a previous magazine interview.
