Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a not-so-secret lovelorn fan.

James Corden, a British comedian, made his love for the former first lady known at the recent Carnegie Hall-held Glamour’s Women of the Year awards ceremony, which she attended to support her daughter, Chelsea, the New York Post reported.

In somewhat inappropriate fashion, Mr. Corden gave his love, who is married, a public shout-out: “There is one woman here who I cannot take my eyes off and there’s one reason: It’s because she’s been undressing me with her eyes. You know how on Instagram they have weird-crush Wednesdays? You’re my weird crush everyday. I want to be your ambassador for defense, secretary for offense, I want to be your minister of romance. You’re a mom I’d like to follow into the White House,” the New York Post reported.

Mr. Corden is due to take over “Late Late Show” host duties.

The New York Post didn’t detail Mrs. Clinton’s response. But daughter Chelsea was quoted as quipping that the event represented her first night out since giving birth to Charlotte.

“I had started to wonder if I’d ever wear a nice dress or high-heeled shoes again,” she said, the New York Post said. “Or have adult conversations.”
