Former President Bill Clinton joked on an appearance on daytime television’s “Ellen” that political thriller shows like “Scandal” and “House of Cards” are fun — that they teach how to make political opponents disappear.

“The thing about ’Scandal’ and ’House of Cards’ that makes it fun to watch is that I can’t imagine that either a President [Kevin] Spacey or the president’s chief of staff on ’Scandal’ could really get away with murder,” he said, The Hill reported. “I wish I’d known about that when I was in office. You know, think of all the opportunities I’ve missed … so little time … so many people had it coming. Crazy.”

Mr. Clinton, 68, also said he’s a big fan of shows produced by Shonda Rhimes.

“I like this ’How to Get Away with Murder,’ ” he said, The Hill reported. “I like ’Scandal.’ I love anything Shonda Rhimes does. I still watch ’Grey’s Anatomy.’ “

Mr. Clinton then responded to a remark about his seeming frequent television viewing habits with this quip: “I had a wife with a traveling job for awhile, so I was home alone a lot,” The Hill reported.
