NEW YORK — After three husbands, Whoopi Goldberg is not about to become a wedding planner.
The Oscar-winning actress and moderator for “The View” has a deal with Hachette Books for a “provocative” take on the “downsides” of marriage, the publisher announced Tuesday. The book, currently untitled, is scheduled to come out next September.
Goldberg, who turns 59 this week, had brief marriages to Alvin Martin, David Claessen and Lyle Trachtenberg. She said in a statement issued by Hachette that she might “have some insight” into why marriages fails. She also offered a warning: “If someone says ’You complete me’ . RUN!!!”
