OPINION:
If you ever wondered just what was meant by the abused term “war on women,” you might want to ask Catherine Engelbrecht, a hard-working small-business owner who has been illegally harassed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration simply because she had the temerity to start a conservative political organization.
As if that were not enough of a real war on a woman, Ms. Engelbrecht’s victimization only continues at the hands of federal Judge Reggie B. Walton, a U.S. District judge who dismissed the lawsuit by her group True the Vote, and up to 41 other organizations that have had their constitutional rights abused by corrupt IRS bureaucrats — proving that a federal judge can be just as dishonest as any presidential appointee or departmental bureaucrat.
Judge Walton may think he is protecting his government, but he is not. The “rule of law” means nothing if federal bureaucrats are not held to the same accountability as citizens. It will not be long before many other Americans begin to show the same indifference and disrespect for law that Lois Lerner, Judge Walton and many other presidential appointees have so blatantly shown.
For the sake of our nation, it is my hope that other federal judges and officials who share the integrity of Ms. Engelbrecht will do their duty and reveal the truth.
