FARMINGTON, N.Y. (AP) - A 31-year-old woman has died in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer rig on the New York State Thruway.

State police say Deborah McDonald of Rochester was killed late Friday morning when her eastbound car crossed the center median into the westbound lanes of the highway, and slammed into the truck. The accident happened between exits 44 and 43 in the town of Farmington.

McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene. Her young daughter escaped with only minor injuries and was taken to a hospital in Rochester.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 45-year-old Rochester man who was not identified by police, was not injured and was not charged.

All lanes of the highway have re-opened and state police are still investigating.
