ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A sewer line collapse has closed a major St. Paul intersection.
A giant crater opened alongside the road when the line collapsed Friday morning.
The collapse happened at the intersection of Johnson Parkway and Phalen (FAY’-luhn) Boulevard. The sinkhole is an estimated 25 feet across and 25 feet deep.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press (https://bit.ly/1j4LWRuhttps://bit.ly/1j4LWRu ) reports the busy intersection will be shut down for several days. The site is just north of the Hmong Village shopping plaza, a popular weekend destination.
No one was hurt during the collapse. The sewer line is operated by Metropolitan Council Environmental Services.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minnesota nurse is accused of stealing powerful painkillers from patients and sneaking in saline solution to cover up her crimes.
Thirty-two-year-old Cali Arndt of Cottage Grove was charged in federal court with stealing morphine, fentanyl and other narcotics for several months in 2012 while working at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.
The Minnesota Board of Nursing says Arndt resigned from Southdale on Oct. 30, 2012, the day after an investigation into the thefts began. The board suspended her license a few months later.
According to the board’s consent order, Arndt said she had been treating her chronic back pain with Percocet and developed an addiction.
A Southdale Hospital spokeswoman would not say how many patients may have been affected.

BUFFALO, Minn. (AP) - Prosecutors suspect a ringing cellphone distracted a 68-year-old Minnesota woman and caused her to fatally strike a South Dakota State athlete on a training run.
Linda Gullickson of Albertville is charged with criminal vehicular homicide in the death of 19-year-old Phillip LaVallee last August.
LaVallee, of Otsego (aht-SEE’-goh), was struck from behind while running on the shoulder of a road. Gullickson’s van allegedly crossed two lanes and struck him.
According to the complaint, phone records show Gullickson received a call on her cellphone around the time of the crash. The call was not answered.
Authorities found no evidence that Gullickson swerved or used her brakes to avoid hitting LaVallee.
