Indiana Gov. Mike Pence said he’s been fielding a lot of advice and suggestions about a presidential run in 2016, and he’s mulling it over — he just may make a play for it, he said.
“In the last few months, people have reached out,” Mr. Pence said, The Washington Post reported. “I’m listening.”
Mr. Pence is a former congressman with a lot of ties to the strong conservative crowd. At the same time, he’s been getting a lot of national exposure lately, traveling out-of-state to help his fellow governors in their fundraising efforts.
He’s staunchly opposed to the Common Core education program, The Hill reported. And he’s a tax-cutter with a record of lowering rates for Indiana residents.
Conservative activists, like Club for Growth President Chris Chocola and former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, send in glowing recommendations for Mr. Pence to run for the seat, The Post reported.
