SEATTLE (AP) - A Seattle police union official says a detective who was sentenced to jail for posting sexually explicit photos of a woman who ended an extramarital affair with him has been fired.

The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/XCzrF2 ) that Seattle Police Officers’ Guild President Ron Smith says David Blackmer was fired Monday. The newspaper says the police department confirmed the firing.

The 17-year Seattle police veteran was sentenced in January in Snohomish County District Court to 90 days in jail for cyberstalking.

Prosecutors said Blackmer had vowed to “ruin” the life of the victim after she went to Blackmer’s home in unincorporated Snohomish County last July to tell his wife about their affair. Court documents say that within hours of the confrontation, the woman noticed the explicit photos and videos on a phony Facebook page Blackmer created.
