RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Katelyn Ferral is joining The Associated Press as a temporary legislative relief reporter. Ferral will be receiving a master’s in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Sunday.
Ferral will join North Carolina Statehouse reporter Gary Robertson to cover the 2014 Legislative Session that starts on Wednesday May 14.
The announcement was made by Friday by South Region Editor Lisa Marie Pane and North Carolina News Editor Timothy Rogers.
From 2010-2012, Ferral worked for The News & Observer of Raleigh where she covered local government, politics, business and breaking news. Prior to that, she did reporting internships at The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and The Hill in Washington, D.C.
She graduated from Marquette University with a degree in journalism and political science in 2010.
