A new recording has surfaced containing a voice that’s purported to be of beleaguered Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling denying he’s a racist.
The audio, posted at RadarOnline.com, contains a voice that sounds like Mr. Sterling saying: “You think I’m a racist? You think I have anything in the world but love for everybody? You don’t think that. You know I’m not a racist.”
Another male voice on the audio then says, CNN reported: “They’re trying to force you to sell.”
And in response, from the purported Mr. Sterling: “You can’t force someone to sell property in America. Well, I’m a lawyer, that’s my opinion.”
The audio isn’t posted with any text that suggests who the second voice belong to, or when the remarks were made.
Mr. Sterling was banned from the NBA and daily oversight of his team for life, as well as fined $2.5 million, for making racial comments that included a demand to his girlfriend that she not bring black people to the games and that she not post pictures of blacks on her Instagram account. NBC Commissioner Adam Silver has since asked that the other NBA team owners join together and press Mr. Sterling to sell his team.
