CROMWELL, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut businesses are gathering to review the state of the economy in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association has scheduled an economic update from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell.

There will be much to talk about. The unemployment rate in Connecticut in March was 7 percent while the national rate was 6.7 percent, which fell to 6.3 percent in April.

Economists say Connecticut has regained less than 55 percent of the jobs lost during the recession.

The business groups asks when and how Connecticut will “get off the sidelines.”

The conference also will examine growth projected in the state’s aerospace industry over the next decade and what the just-ended annual session of the Connecticut legislature means for the state’s economy and job creation.
