BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (AP) - Police say a 70-year-old man has been struck and killed by a vehicle while walking across a Bridgewater highway.
Police say Dennis Healy was attempting to cross Route 18 at about 10 p.m. Thursday when he was struck.
He was taken to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Healy was walking south when he suddenly began to cross and was struck by a southbound car driven by a Bridgewater man. There are no crosswalks in the area.
The accident is under investigation and no charges have been filed.
