CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - A University of Illinois fraternity has been suspended while police investigate vandalism committed on campus this week.

David Busshart is the director of chapter services for the national Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He told The News-Gazette in Champaign (https://bit.ly/1fS77p9 ) that the University of Illinois has suspended operations while the investigation continues.

Champaign Police Lieutenant Jim Clark said police received reports that a group of people broke a window in a university building, jumped on cars on campus and caused problems in a bar.

Clark said three people were arrested for alleged underage drinking but the vandalism remains under investigation.

An official at the university’s Office for Student Conflict Resolution said he was aware of the situation but declined comment.
