ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Anne Arundel County police have charged an Annapolis woman with seeking to silence a witness in the attempted murder case against her boyfriend, a cousin of the mayor.
Police announced Wednesday that 33-year-old Stacie Roberts has been charged with witness intimidation and obstruction of justice after seeking to have the alleged victim in the case kidnapped and killed so he couldn’t testify at the trial of 24-year-old Savvas Pantelides.
Police say Roberts was charged Monday after she met a detective posing as an outlaw motorcycle gang associate, gave him details about the alleged victim and offered $1,600 and prescription pills to have him killed.
Pantelides, who is awaiting trial on attempted first-degree murder and robbery charges, is the cousin of Annapolis Mayor Mike Pantelides. A city spokeswoman declined to comment.
