SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has cancelled the tornado watch in had issued for eastern South Dakota.

The watch remains in effect for parts of southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa. It is expected to expire before 9 p.m.

Large hail and isolated tornadoes had been predicted in the region.

The weather service says quarter-size hail was reported two miles southeast of Harrisburg, South Dakota.

A weather service meteorologist says the system is moving east and is leaving behind areas of light rain and drizzle.
