Rep. Louie Gohmert scoffed at the recent climate change alarmism that’s emanated from the White House, saying that it was only a few short years ago that today’s heated rhetoric about global warming had instead focused on the opposite — global cooling.
Referencing the White House’s just-released, 840-page climate change report, as well as the recent revelations of the supposed “secret waiting list” that was part and parcel of Veterans Administration hospitals, Mr. Gohmert said: “The buck does stop with the top commander,” he said in an interview with WND.
He also told WND: “If the president wanted to make as much of a central issue as he had with this ’climate change’ issue — which allows the government to take over more people’s property and their rights and their lives — then we’d get the VA fixed very quickly,” he said.
Then he reminded how in the 1970s, the warnings about the Earth’s atmosphere were similarly pressing — albeit from the opposite end of the temperature gauge.
“Apparently this climate change was global freezing back in the 1970s,” Mr. Gohmert said, Raw Story reported. “Then global warming and then, when it quit warming, now it’s climate change.”
But, he added in the WND interview, climate change is “apparently … a much bigger issue to this administration than helping those who laid down their lives and put themselves in danger for the good of the country.”
