NEW YORK (AP) - New York Liberty guard Kamiko Williams will miss the 2014 WNBA season after tearing a knee ligament during practice.
The team said Thursday the injury to her right anterior cruciate ligament happened Tuesday.
The second-year pro out of Tennessee appeared in all 34 games last season, starting 18 of them. She averaged 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds.
Williams was coming off a strong season overseas in which she averaged 15.8 points and 8.1 rebounds for Elitzur Maclaren Holon of the Israeli League.
New York opens its season May 16 at Connecticut.
