PORTLAND, Ind. (AP) - A company that builds industrial fans is planning to shut down an eastern Indiana factory and move production work to an Ohio plant.

Hartzell Air Movement has told the Indiana Department of Workforce Development that it intends to close its Portland, Indiana, factory by the end of September. The Portland factory has nearly 50 workers.

Hartzell executives say production will be moved to Piqua, Ohio. The company is based in that city about 30 miles north of Dayton, Ohio.

The company expects to start laying off workers from the Portland factory in July.
