LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - A Jones County Grand Jury has declined to indict four people arrested in the fatal shooting of Douglas Santrell McGruder near a Laurel apartment complex Nov. 7, 2013.

McGruder died of a gunshot wound to chest.

The Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1jjyNDr ) the grand jury’s action was made public Wednesday. It had returned the no bill on April 30. A no bill means the grand jury found insufficient evidence existed for an indictment on a criminal charge.

Frankie Lee Hosey, Brittany Monique Smith, Joshua McGill and Terrance Roberts, all of Laurel, had been arrested in the case. McGill, Smith and Roberts were each charged with one count of murder. Hosey was charged as an accessory.

Laurel Police Chief Tyrone Stewart says his department is continuing to investigate the case.
