LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say a 12-year-old Mayflower boy was killed in a crash on the Interstate 430 bridge over the Arkansas River in Little Rock.

State police say the wreck occurred at about 3 a.m. Thursday. According to a preliminary report, Raphael Skinner Jr. died when the vehicle he was riding in left the roadway and crashed.

Authorities say five others from Mayflower were injured in the wreck, including four children ranging in age from 4 to 6. Authorities say the injured were taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.

A spokeswoman for the hospital says one of the injured children, 4-year-old Raven Brown, remains in critical condition. Conditions were not available for the other passengers.

The police report did not say why the vehicle left the roadway.
