SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania woman and her two daughters have pleaded guilty in the death of their 32-year-old son and brother, who had Down syndrome and was severely neglected.

Her daughter, 35-year-old Joan Gensiak, faces a maximum of 27 years after pleading guilty to a felony negligence count.

A second daughter, 25-year-old Rebekah Gensiak, testified against her mother and sister. She pleaded guilty to misdemeanor negligence and faces up to five years.

They’ll be sentenced within 90 days.
