JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Several state legislators do not plan to seek re-election.

Republican Reps. Alan Austerman of Kodiak and Peggy Wilson of Wrangell and Sen. Fred Dyson of Eagle River plan to retire.

Republican Rep. Lindsey Holmes of Anchorage does not plan another run. Democratic Sen. Hollis French of Anchorage is running for lieutenant governor instead. Republican Reps. Mia Costello of Anchorage and Bill Stoltze of Chugiak plan Senate runs.

Austerman and Dyson each had long legislative careers marked by service in each the House and Senate.

Wilson was first elected to the House in 2000. This past session ended with a proposed constitutional amendment to establish a transportation infrastructure fund, a longtime pet cause of hers, stalling in the Senate after passing the House.

The candidate filing deadline is June 2.
