CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - It could be a rough summer for commuters who use the Ben Franklin Bridge.
Delaware River Port Authority chief executive John Hanson says a $103 million construction project on the PATCO rail line on the bridge will mean less frequent trains with only a single track operating on the bridge for much of the summer.
He also told a public gathering Tuesday in Philadelphia that the work will require closing two traffic lanes.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (https://bit.ly/RnaBoS ) reports Hanson told commuters that those who do not have to use the bridge during rush hours may want to consider alternatives.
The south track is to be closed for 60 days starting after Memorial Day. The north track is scheduled to be closed for 50 days later in the summer.
