ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A man wanted in Texas on several charges has been arrested in New Mexico.
The U.S. Marshals Service and Albuquerque police said Wednesday that Adam Rico was taken into custody at an Albuquerque motel.
They say Rico is wanted in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme in Lubbock that reported targeted a Texas law enforcement officer.
Authorities say Rico also is wanted on suspicion of arson and aggravated assault on a police officer.
Deputies from the North Texas Fugitive Task Force in Lubbock developed leads that Rico was in Albuquerque.
Texas authorities say Rico was arrested last month on federal charges involving weapons and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
He’s being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque while awaiting extradition.
