GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Packers have hired Steve Marshall as their new assistant offensive line coach, turning to a veteran with more than 30 years of coaching experience in the NFL and college.

Marshall arrives in Green Bay four months after becoming offensive line coach in January at New Mexico State.

Marshall’s most recent stop in the NFL was in Cleveland, where he coached the front five in 2007-08. He was also an assistant coach for the Houston Texans from 2002-05 under current Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers. An extensive college resume includes stops at Colorado, California and North Carolina.

Marshall replaces Joel Hilgenberg, who resigned two weeks ago to spend more time with his family. He will assist offensive line coach James Campen.
