Angel Martinez-Ramos, an Navy SEAL who left active duty in 2010 to serve in the Reserve, has pleaded guilty to conspiring to smuggle drugs into the U.S.

Martinez-Ramos and his wife, Bibiana Marcela Lopez-Correa, flew into the U.S. from Colombia and were detained by customs agents in Miami, ABC News reported on May 2. They had 10 kilograms in bricks of cocaine on them at the time of the arrest.

The former elite warrior signed a plea agreement in March, which dropped charges of importing a controlled substance and intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Martinez-Ramos is scheduled to be sentenced later this month, ABC News reported. His wife has plead guilty and has been sentenced to 70 months in prison, court documents show.
