LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say they’ve arrested a 43-year-old man suspected of killing his grandfather in Las Vegas.

Police say they were searching for Steven Woodard in downtown Las Vegas Wednesday morning when they found him sleeping behind a vacant home a little after 5 a.m. Authorities say Woodard was arrested without incident and booked into the Clark County jail on charges including murder and attempted murder.

Woodard’s grandfather was found dead Tuesday morning at a home on Cottonwood Place, several miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip. Police say it appears the slaying happened late Monday.

Police say Woodard also tried to harm his father and the father’s roommate at a home just off Charleston Boulevard near Maryland Parkway.
