Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid continued his campaign against Charles and David Koch on the Senate floor Wednesday, accusing the billionaire financiers of being one of the main causes of climate change.

“While the Koch brothers admit to not being experts on the matter, these billionaire oil tycoons are certainly… experts at contributing to climate change. That’s what they do very well. They are one of the main causes of this. Not a cause, one of the main causes,” the Democrat said, according to a report by Politico.

“Charles and David Koch are waging a war against anything that protects the environment. I know that sounds absurd, but it’s true,” he said.

Mr. Reid continued the attack on Twitter: “While the Koch brothers admit they’re not experts on climate change, they are experts in CAUSING IT.

“Kochs are waging war against protecting the environment. Meanwhile, they’re one of the most toxic air polluters,” he said, linking to a report by the Political Economy Research Institute.

Politico reports that wealthy liberal investor Tom Steyer challenged the Kochs last week in a newspaper ad to a debate on climate change, but they didn’t accept.
