RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Energy provider Dominion says it has acquired two solar energy projects under development in southwest Tennessee.

The Mulberry Farm and Selmer Farm projects are located near Selmer, Tennessee. Each stand-alone project will produce about 16 megawatts of electricity.

Strata Solar of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is developing both projects. Dominion said Wednesday that the projects are scheduled to begin commercial operation by the end of the year.

Richmond-based Dominion says in a news release that the Tennessee Valley Authority will purchase the electricity produced by the solar projects.

Strata will operate and maintain the projects.
