GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - An inmate at the Kent County jail in western Michigan has died by hanging himself.

Capt. Chuck DeWitt of the sheriff’s office tells radio station WJRW that the man was discovered Monday night. Ryan Maddox had been in the county jail in Grand Rapids since November. He was 28 years old.

It’s the third death at the jail since March. The others were related to medical problems.
