OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed Ron Sims to be chairman of the board that oversees the state’s health insurance exchange.

The Seattle Times reported (https://bit.ly/1iTQtWR) that Sims, who served as the deputy secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development until 2011, replaces Margaret Stanley, whose two-year term has ended. Sims, who was King County executive from 1997 until 2009, is currently serving as the chair of the Dean’s Council for the University of Washington’s School of Public Health. His appointment was announced Monday.

Sims’ term on the Health Benefit Exchange Board runs from June 15 until the end of 2015.
