BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Palm Beach County retiree has been jailed after police saw he robbed a bank.

Russell Cooper is 77 years old and only gets around with the help of a walker.

Boynton Beach police say he was angered after showing up at a PNC branch Friday and being told his account was closed for lack of funds.

Authorities say he then cornered a bank manager with a pocket knife and demanded $130. Cooper was shot with a Taser by a police officer after allegedly threatening to stab both the officer and the manager.

It wasn’t immediately known if Cooper had an attorney. The Palm Beach Post (https://bit.ly/1neQ0Au ) reports that he’s being held on $20,000 bail.
