PAWLETT, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say the search along the banks of the Mettawee River near the border with New York failed to turn up any new leads in the disappearance of a 23-year-old man who has been missing since January.
Jonathan Schaff was last seen early on Jan. 18 walking on Route 149 near the New York-Vermont line. Police say he had been involved in a fight in a Granville bar and suffered a head injury and broken glasses.
Warm weather made it possible Tuesday for dive teams and other officials from both states to participate in the search in Pawlett, Vermont, and Granville, New York.
More than 30 New York State Police recruits were expected to assist with the ground search.
