LAS VEGAS (AP) - A federal appeals court panel has upheld a $60,000 judgment against a long-time poker player for infringing on the trademark of a Nevada company that makes books and videos about gambling.

The Las Vegas Sun (https://tinyurl.com/l4y8xez) reports a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the judgment against Russell “Dutch” Boyd of Culver City, California.

It agreed with U.S. District Judge Kent Dawson’s ruling in March 2012 that Boyd acted in bad faith in registering the domain name “Twoplustwopoker.com.”

The Henderson-based Two Plus Two Publishing LLC said he was trying to divert online customers away from the company’s website.

The appellate court said Two Plus Two presented evidence it has sold more than 2 million books and has 250,000 members on its online forums.
