RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A spokesman for the State Board of Elections says voting is going smoothly with minor delays reported in three counties.

Board spokesman Josh Lawson says power or connection problems caused minor delays early Tuesday at one precinct each in Guilford, Alamance and Stanly counties. Although each delay was short, Lawson says the board likely will meet later today to decide whether to extend voting at the affected precincts.

He didn’t have an estimate yet for how many people have voted so far.
