MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota is submitting its final bid to host the 2018 Super Bowl.
Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen tells Minnesota Public Radio News (https://bit.ly/1onYcvF ) the final bid is being sent to the NFL Tuesday afternoon.
Minnesota submitted its preliminary bid on April 1. The state is competing with New Orleans and Indianapolis for the game.
A new indoor stadium for the Minnesota Vikings in downtown Minneapolis is due to be completed in 2016.
Minnesota organizers think the Super Bowl will bring more than 100,000 visitors to the Twin Cities. Officials from Minnesota will be traveling to Atlanta for the NFL’s three-day meeting in late May.
More details of the Minnesota campaign, including an official logo, will be released at a news conference Wednesday.
