ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Defenseman Nick Leddy has been left out of Chicago’s lineup for the first time in more than three years.
Leddy was a surprise scratch for the Blackhawks in Game 3 on Tuesday in their Western Conference semifinal series against the Minnesota Wild. Sheldon Brookbank played in his place.
Since being brought up from the minors in January 2011, Leddy had played in every game for the Blackhawks, regular season and postseason. He has two assists in eight playoff games this season.
Leddy is a native of Eden Prairie, a suburb about 25 miles from Xcel Energy Center. The Wild made Leddy their first-round draft pick in 2009 but traded him to the Blackhawks less than a year later with defenseman Kim Johnsson for defenseman Cam Barker.
