SALEM, Mass. (AP) - Two people required hospitalization and about 70 people were displaced from their homes by an overnight fire at a Salem apartment building.

Firefighters needed to use a ladder to rescue one resident from a floor above the fire at 60 Dow St. reported early Tuesday.

The injured people are not thought to have life-threatening injuries.

The four-story brick building has 32 units.

Investigators think the fire started on a second floor porch, but the exact cause remains unknown.

The Red Cross responded to the scene to assist those displaced.
