MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A federal judge has scheduled sentencing Aug. 12 in Montgomery for 10 people who pleaded guilty in a multi-state dog fighting investigation.

U.S. District Judge Keith Watkins ordered the 10 to appear in court in 15-minute intervals for sentencing. The 10 are from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas. Most face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for conspiracy.

The 10 pleaded guilty during court appearances last week in Montgomery. One more defendant has filed court papers saying he wants to plead guilty. That defendant, William Oneil Edwards of Elba, has a hearing scheduled Aug. 7 in Montgomery.
