YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) - Former Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel kicks off campus visits by the three finalists for the president’s job at Youngstown State University.
The school says each finalist will participate in a variety of meetings, including an open forum for the university community. Tressel’s is Monday afternoon.
The other finalists are Southern Oregon University President Mary Cullinan and Gary L. Miller, chancellor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Miller visits Tuesday, Cullinan on Wednesday.
Trustees expect to make their choice within weeks.
A former Youngstown State coach, Tressel also is a finalist for the presidency at the University of Akron, where he’s been an administrator for two years. He was forced out at Ohio State following a scandal in which players sold memorabilia for cash and tattoos.
