ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a central Indiana teenager to 50 years in prison for sexually attacking a 93-year-old woman inside her home.

The sentence ordered Monday comes after the 17-year-old from Anderson pleaded guilty last month to charges of burglary, criminal deviate conduct, criminal confinement and strangulation for the July 2013 attack. The Herald-Bulletin reports (https://bit.ly/1fK1JVd ) Madison County Judge Thomas Newman handed down the maximum sentence against the teen.

The teenager was arrested five weeks after the attack inside the woman’s Anderson home.

The teen was sent to a state hospital for three months after two mental health experts found he was borderline mentally disabled. He was found competent to stand trial in December.
