PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a 13-year-old boy has died from drowning.

Officer James Holmes says Osman Abdi was found unresponsive Sunday afternoon in the pool area of an apartment complex in west Phoenix.

According to Holmes, officers were told the boy did not live at the complex but was seen jumping the fence around the pool and going into the water.

He was the only person in the fenced pool area at the time.
