Sen. Tim Kaine, Virginia Democrat, said Monday that he endorsed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 because her diverse experiences and web of relationships around the world make her the best candidate.
“Of everyone out there running or thinking about running, she is the best candidate,” he said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
He thinks it’ll be difficult for her to win, which is part of the reason he announced his support so early at a “Ready for Hillary” event over the weekend.
“If it’s going to be easy for a woman to be president, one would have already been president,” he said. “If she’s the right person and it’s going to be hard, the best thing for me to do is to get out there early and start pushing it.”
