Former GOP Sen. Rick Santorum said Monday that the GOP needs to focus on blue-collar workers to have a chance at victory in 2016.

“When you make things and create wealth, like energy and manufacturing does,” he said on MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown with Chuck Todd.” “For the 70 percent of Americans who don’t have college degrees, you create a chance for good, steady work.”

However, he said Republicans can’t support blue-collar workers without also supporting at least some increase in the minimum wage.
