NEW YORK (AP) - In a story May 3 about a blessing of the bicycles at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, The Associated Press misspelled the name of a reverend canon. Her name is Julia Whitworth, not Whiteworth.

A corrected version of the story is below:

NYC cathedral hosts blessing of bicycles for more than 300 riders

NEW YORK (AP) - More than 300 cyclists are having their bicycles blessed at a New York City cathedral.

The cyclists - and a few children on scooters - attended the blessing at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Manhattan.

The annual event draws cyclists from all over the city to have their beloved vehicles blessed.

They also held a moment of silence for bicyclists killed while riding in the last year.

The event, now in its 16th year, has grown dramatically. Only 10 or so riders attended the first blessing.

The Rev. Canon Julia Whitworth concluded the ceremony be leading a procession of cyclists around the cathedral, the city’s largest.
