LINCOLNTON, N.C. (AP) - Officials in Lincoln County say three pipe bombs exploded in a neighborhood in a community on the eastern side of the county.

No injuries have been reported.

The explosion happened about six miles east of Lincolnton. Authorities said a small fire was set in the yard as a result of the explosions.

The sheriff’s office said dispatchers received a call about an explosion around 1 a.m. Monday. They issued a message warning area residents about the incident.

Deputies said three bombs apparently exploded, and they also said a fourth bomb was found near the road. The bomb squad from the Gaston County Police Department detonated it.

Detectives went door-to-door in the neighborhood on Monday, looking for witnesses.
