MILWAUKEE (AP) - A private equity firm based in California has purchased Klement Sausage Co.

The Milwaukee sausage company founded 58 years ago will fold into Altamont Capital Partners’ portfolio company, Tall Tree Foods.

Tall Tree CEO Tim Bruer says Klement’s is a strong regional brand with the potential for growth beyond its current market. The current CEO of Klement’s, Ray Booth, will continue to lead the business along with the current management team. Its offices will stay in Milwaukee.

Klement’s was founded in 1956 by three brothers George, John and Ron Klement. Its products include smoked, fresh and summer sausage, snack sticks and deli meats.
